The Children's Friend, The Good Shepherd |
Lasting impressions are those of our earliest years. I'm so thankful for my Sunday School teacher who taught us songs using a poster board of art collage photos from magazines so we could visualize the words. I still remember every photo used in "Father, We Thank Thee", and yes, the words too.
And how bold of her to have our little class memorize Psalms 100 – at the age of 6 years old. To this day, I ask to say David's prayer at Thanksgiving dinner so I can recite the glorious words of praise learned so long ago.
Blessed, I'm sure, are the parents and teachers of the children that grow up and old – who can say they can't remember a time when they didn't believe. |
